I may have sensed some decent riffage, yeee
On-point sound-off btw, pretty similar to how I feel thus far, that said, they definitely do be some good riffs and the prod goes ahrd m/

Nice review Gnocchi! I had actually started a review of this in order to get a thread going but I’ll put it on the backburner for now.
Metal AOTY so far, perfect for the season

Okay I listened to this again (then again again) and hmm imma do a 90o on my previous remarks…
This is damn good! It isn’t just a maelstrom of (admittedly cool) riffs stuck together, that would be doing it a disservice. I think there’s some engaging song-writing ‘substance’ buried in here, I swear.

Yeah the way these riffs flow into each other is something else

So many gems being dropped in here with Inanna and the new Ripped to Shreds. Both slay! Someone in another thread mentioned another band who dropped a new album this year and claimed it as album of the year. The band name started with an A and when I looked them up on sput it said they were from New York. Album cover was mostly black background with a white or grey figure in the middle. Can anyone help me figure out what band/album that was? Meant to save it in my notes and completely forgot and I can't remember what thread it was either : (

Knick got it! Thanks!
That Acausal Intrusion was pretty dope upon first spin as well. Been meaning to go back to it also

Somehow the year's most divisive DM album.

3'd their last album so very hesitant to check this but the polarity has got me intrigued
anyone else think their name is just boring

'Sounds like Aeviterne - The Ailing Facade' (2)
yeah, probably wasn't me you were referring to (?), but I did mention it in the Art Brain thread, I think. It is certainly right up there in the AOTY stakes for me.

Excited to hear this, wasn't even on my radar until I saw the sput thread. SPECIATION was not only my favorite dm release of 2020, it was also one of my favorites of the year full stop.
I'm too much of a pessimist to go into this album with high expectations, though, but I'm looking forward to it nonetheless.

This is better than Speciation, but my prediction is that you won't think so
