I'm becoming rather obsessed with this album, kinda surprised by it given I love House Of Sugar but every other Alex G release hasn't impressed me much (shaky 3.5s at best).

Not up to par with HOUSE OF SUGAR, but that's an admittedly high bar - this lacks the consistency and total cohesion. Something about HOUSE OF SUGAR just seemed surgically coordinated and constructed, even for how lackadaisical a vibe it emitted. This ebbs and flows a bit more.
That's a decidedly critical take in comparison to what ended up being among my ten favorite albums of 2019, though; this is still a great slice of folk-laden semi-electro indie pop or whateveryouwannacallit.
'Runner', 'Early Morning Waiting', and 'Miracles' are the choice cuts.

First 3 songs get the album starting out so strong until SDOS takes it off the rails. At least in HoS that moment didn't happen until 7th track.
