Got got back from the big Yell Pop show last night.

TDWP was indeed Yellpop. But they had a ton of energy, seemed to really give a shit, and were having a lot of fun with the crowd being as full and dense as it was on a Tuesday night. No phoning it in. Keys/programming was just a dude doing it all live with some keyboards. Good shit.

I haven't been a fan since..uhh...15 years ago, and yeah some of their songs sounded like Matchbox Twenty (one chorus in particular I can't recall), but in a live setting in a big happy metalcore crowd, it works!
They did play a handful of ancient tracks as crowd pleasers, so that was nice. When they went heavy it was proper heavy, I just wish for longer. Vocals very decent live too.

I was bored to death when I saw them a couple months ago outside of when they played their old heavy songs, which I know sounds like an unga bunga brain opinion but they are just dull as fuck. Even then, they were snarky about playing the old songs by saying, "see, now you can't complain we didn't play old stuff."

Just wild that they're responsible for one of the most fun shows I've ever been to (in 2009) and one of the most boring ones I've had to endure.

Yeah that'll make any show more fun. I fell off TDWP when Dead Throne dropped and was hoping hearing them play new stuff live would help me get more into it but sadly it did nothing for me.
