It's admittedly been a while since I spun Revocation. No particular reason but I'm committed to giving this one some time. If for no other reason than Dean Lamb is such a loyal nut swinger lol.

Ngl starting to change my mind again somewhat, there's definitely some smart intricacies and real chops on this. Still not digging the low-register-open-disso-chords-are-the-pinnacle-of-heaviness fetish and the one-dimensional vocal & lyrical approach, but there's some honest fresh ideas here as well, and good songwriting overall.

DePlazz hit the nail on the head. Felt the same way for me.

my favourite riff on this one also feels like it could be an artificial brain riff, the ghost of dan lives on

riff at 1:00 on abyss

The Disso Dan is certainly alive here yeah. But also on that same track, at 2:41: signature Extol! See Blood Red Cover (Synergy) at 0:34.

I think Strange and Eternal is my favorite here. That and opener + closing track bringing the good ol' Revo vibes.

This is how Havok is for me. Not a fan of that band on record, kinda generic thrash that is well executed, but holy hell they absolutely kill it live

Super slick, tight and catchy, nice instrumentation reminescent of prog bands, but also aggressive and energetic, without sacrificing complexity. Shit this is good, think I've just found my new fav band from this genre lol
