Horizons confirmed peak.
Look, I can respect a band wanting to do something different (e.g., Oldpeth to Newpeth), but Winston declaring "their whole career has been working up to this (mangnum opus)" before the release of Darker Still was the most tone deaf shit I have ever heard. Their musicianship has been crucified.

Reading that Winston’s favourite artist is Tom Waits makes their entire career trajectory, as well as his vocal inflections of late, make soooo much more sense

Their recent releases have millions of listens more than their older stuff, so they definitely still have a fanbase and solid choreography that is easy to return to, I just can't keep up with it since Horizons. That album had such incredible vision and I simply can't move on from it with this band.

For sure man, what they're doing now is working for them commercially it can't be denied. I just reckon their music has gone down the toilet.

many other bands have "taken the mantle" for me with this sound since Horizons, this band has long since been dead to me since they just don't possess the melodic hardcore ambition this band used to have, they used to just be some surfer dudes who liked to make hardcore music and try and push it to a new height that they themselves created and didn't need to rip off of in an already saturated genre. That time is long gone and it truly is a crying shame.
