Bumped up to a 4/5 after a week, I'm surprised that anyone who likes this band would dislike this album. Some of the vocal harmonies I could do without and one or two tracks seem lyrically repetitive ('Bloodshot' I'm looking at you) but overall I'm really digging this one, good stuff!

This band has 2 good albums. Burn My Eyes and The More Things Change. Everything they've recorded after 1997 has been an embarrassment to metal.

The middle part is definitely the most underwhelming but it does feel like I mind it less with each listen. Arrows is a great closer, though. Definitely one of their best songs.

Still need to listen fully and see how the tracks that were on the EP have been changed significantly in any way on the album version

I think this review was on point. I like the angle you take, it gets straight to the contexts that matter here. And I overall agree on listening experience. There're some great moments instrumentally, but a lot of tracks don't hit the same peaks of progression, like we're not necessarily getting the payoff of something like the end of Halo.

But I don't think they're out of material, I just wish Rob Flynn would... Idk... Make sure lyrics sit well from an author's perspective or something? Idk how to put it. Just be a little more multi-faceted.

Why does Robb Flynn insist on overshadowing every half decent riff with a crappy, melodramatic chorus
