I can't see how one would think 'Hospitality' sucks but like 'Cavalcade.' 'Hospitality' is some of his sickest shit, but everything post-Rossz is just whicked. His samples and the crispness of the tones he's using these days are so good its scary.

One thing I find odd about many reviews I read of this album is that, when drawing comparisons with Rossz... and Funk's previous body of work, there is a great deal said of the emotions evoked through the use of strings in Rossz... which is a new addition to the VS output. In contrast, it is often suggested that Cavalcade is a closer relative to earlier VS work, the emphasis being on beat and rhythm.
On the contrary, Cavalcade is a different beast entirely from Funk's earlier work due to the crisp programming and predominance of melody. There is certainly no less subtlety in Cavalcade than in Rossz... and I personally find the former the more moving of the two albums. Look at the likes of Twirl, P and Cancel to get a glimpse of the variety of moods and styles that are explored in one album.
I also think there is a cohesion throughout Cavalcade evident in the progression between tracks and the flavour of the synths. I believe this is my favourite VS release, and certainly my favourite album of 2006.
Is that a comment or a review?

Too short for a review, maybe even too long for a sounoff. Good comment I'd say.

So far I've heard 'Huge Chrome Cylinder', 'Songs About My Cats' & 'Doll' as well but this is the one which comes closest to encapsulating that same feeling I get with Rossz. It still has a way to go mind.

I might raise my rating, really enjoy this one quite a lot. It gets the balance between the frenetic beats & calmer passages just right & I like the use of samples.
