Good review. I haven't listened to Regina in ages.

What kind of Fiona Apple is this?

Never change doof. I enjoyed this overall. Seemed a bit all over the place. Going to have to see how things settle.

I don't mind the inclusion of the more piano ballad type tracks on this. Seems like a good balance of adventurous tracks with some more reserved cuts. Will need to spin a few more times before rating. This one at least feels on par with how I overall felt with her last album in 2016.

I was confused about how I felt about this for weeks after hearing it but I'm finally okay with saying that it's definitely all over the place. That said, there's 3-4 songs here that absolutely rule, and none of the tracks are atrocious, so it's still very much worth your while.

Still figuring my full thoughts here, but Coin is easily my early favorite

Been digesting this one slowly but I'm strongly leaning towards this being her best since Begin To Hope. I really love it.

Scratch that, this is her best since Soviet.

For me it probably goes:
Elite Tier - Becoming All Alone Again, Up the Mountain, Spacetime Fairytale
High Tier - Coin, One Man's Prayer, Sugarman
Mid Tier - Rain Drops, What Might’ve Been, Loveology, Through A Door
Low Tier - N/A

This might honestly be her weakest for me, pretty disappointed on first listen ):
At this point I’d take an album full of “Up the Mountain”s and “Small Bill$”s

Your reaction was the same as mine. Spacetime Fairytale and maybe Coin were the only songs that lived up to the first two singles released; still, I felt a 4 was the right score considering that there are no poor tracks and she's talented as all hell.

I wasn't paying much attention to the first listen so I was in the same place, but I wanted to spend a few more days with it and now I'd probably insert it comfortably in my top 5 of the year so far, along with 40 Watt Sun, Big Thief, and Beach House.
Surpringisly, the only song here I'm not too crazy about is Coin. I think it reaches a bit too high.

I've been hooked by the indieheads and I'm afraid I've sunk too deep.
