I agree Ectier, Cellar of Ghosts is just stellar. Very solid release that I'll come back to often.

Were these guys ever in Europe? If not, they should. In a timely fashion that is

Yeah I really don't mind the spoken word on this album. It adds a little extra flavor, but if it wasn't here I could care less

Keep coming back to this and it just doesn't click no matter how much I try to enjoy this. The production just makes everything sound so awkward.

idk i relistened recently and the songwriting is just so good that I can tolerate the lousy drum sounds

That "This, is not my home" drop in Beyond the Passage of Embers is probably my favorite music moment of this year.. so heavy, so epic

Exactly, it's an album that has great songwriting that just dosen't sound good. The band members have ears after all, there's no reason for the mixes to sound this awkward. I'm usually not picky with this as well but its really annoying here. The almanac production has bad drums but this just sounds way worse to me. Maybe my car speakers just suck.

MeatWolf:
I really want to like this but for heavens sake, even programmed drums used to be produced better 10 years ago. Even Almanac drums were better
You're not wrong. I don't know what it is with these guys, but they can't seem to get a decent production. Imagine Kardashev with a production like Sleep Token. They just seem incapable of making a recording that doesn't sound "just okay" at best. No idea why.
