I expected a more nuanced disquisition on the perils of silencing views that run contrariwise to mainstream narrative and ethical norms from four pasty manchildren in a band called decapitated

What's funny is that these guys weren't canceled at all lol. They were mostly supported by their fans the whole time. They just had a nasty tour through the justice system

I was actually scared to listen to this album, because every album Decapitated has made has been different and energy has been lost along the way. Winds of Creation knocked my socks off when I first heard it and it was my favorite album for many, many years, until I heard The Negation and Carnival is Forever. By then they had already morphed from death metal into groove metal territory, but they were still very good. But, when I heard preview of Hello Death earlier this year, with female vocals and a very proggy, slow rhythm, my heart just completely sank. I was legitimately scared that they sold out and had gone soft on every song, but luckily they did not. All the other songs still sound like Decapitated, but perhaps with a little less energy and ferocity than before and the occasional alternative male vocals just to throw you off of your head banging horse. I hope this is not the beginning of the end from this once-fantastic band.
