To be honest when I first got into these guys when Concept dropped I had no idea there were two vocalists lol. They were equally awesome around that time so I didn't even realize.

even tho i am not gus's biggest fan i disagree. the dual vocal approach works wonders for this band and he and barr did have really strong chemistry with each other. as much as i want to hear a heavy album of nothing but barr one day part of the fun of the early volumes albums is hearing them trade off caps lock classics back and forth

two similar vocal styles, two different dimensions of what they each had to offer for the overall dynamic of their sound. live shows are made better this way too, each of them could give it their all and still retain their performance. not sure I could respect a Volumes album with just Mike.

Real talk on the ep you could barely tell them apart and that was the only time Gus was not a detriment

barr sounds way better than gus on the ep. if anything they match closer on via, but barr also stopped mixing up his performance with lows and highs so they occupied a closer range in timbre
