I enjoy this band, but the Contortionist are on another level.

Terminal remains one of my favorite songs of the year.

I've even come around to the closer, which I still find lackluster in comparison to Depths, but nowhere near as disappointing as I originally found it.

This grew off hard. And I wasn't floored to begin with.

This is much better than I thought it would be. I expected another djent djoint, but this remained somewhat unique compared to the rest I've heard

I only spun this like twice, maybe I didn't like it as much as I thought

Yeah, long intro aside that track is a jam. Basic but really fun.

This fell off hard for me, but Trilogy is still a jam and a half.

I really only jam Trilogy and Till we have faces these days, the rest I kinda stopped caring about

Something about the production here I don’t like. Is it compression?

Every time I revisit this I’m underwhelmed

Yeah... I think people that were already fans of their music really dug their live show and people that were new to them loathed it (like me).

Completely different genre here but I saw The Front Bottoms open for Modern Baseball and The Wonder Years back in the day before I had ever heard of them and thought they were dreadful and then later in the year after liking their recordings checked out a live show and had a blast so it might be one of those types of things.

Their virtual concert was great besides the inconsistent cleans

From the live recordings I've seen their cleans are really hit or miss. I saw them on the Constellations tour and the cleans were really good.
