Every album they release is just a bit better. Another 8 years and 2 releases and they'll make a 5 inshallah

I could probably 5 this one tbh, I don't have a single gripe with it and as far as this genre goes it's easily my favorite piece of music.

Inshallah it doesn't take 4 more years for a new album next time

I feel like these guys are the type of band to put the same album out every single time and that's not a bad thing at all. Similar to what Revocation or Black Dahlia Murder does.

Alright these guys were really sick the other night with Entheos and Inferi and Vulvodynia. The last one was South African...deathcore? slam? with the namesake of a vaginal disorder?
Anyhow they were all fantastic but Entheos blew me away. I have their second LP on vinyl but hadn't listened to them much since it released.
Brian from Fallujah (well, he just left) was in on guitar. Chaney is incredible live. Actually, Entheos sounded better live than on record because it was so much more meaty and crushing than the clinical, cold (read: tech deathy) mix of their records. Most metal bands sound heavier live but these guys sounded like how they SHOULD sound on record.
I hadn't been to a packed show since COVID began. I saw Obscura a bit back but I wasn't in a good mental state at the show and went solo and it felt lonely. But this time, feeling better and with a buddy, wow. Wowowowow.
Entheos starts playing Black Static, arguably their bounciest, and my brain was like, "YUP, THIS IS IT!" and dumped serotonin all over itself, and that melodic section that plays twice and starts the guitars for the song about a minute in, pure euphoria, I haven't felt that in many months. Fuck yeah.
All the bands were evidently distraught about Trevor Strnad, whose death was just announced the day of, and they had some nice things to say about him. A ton of people showed up in Blach Dahlia shirts. It was nice.
Archspire though, wow. They....actually pull it off live. They really are as fast as advertised. The living mixing started to fail me here, lots of speaker blowout on specific notes Toby was playing, Oliver evidently noticed it, and while it was reduced after a couple songs, the mix was a tad muddy and you had to be careful to watch the band members to confirm the noises your brain was trying to pick out of the wall of sound to differentiate them. But that stopped mattering, I was hammered and the whole (SOLD-OUT) audience was shoulder-to-shoulder headbanging to the drums anyway. Fun night. 4 bands that all surprised me, that doesn't happen at many shows.
Tbh Entheos could headline. They said that right before they started the tour they had finished their new album. So we have that to look forward too.
Yes I'm stoned why do you ask?

oh fuck me and Inferi. Saw them once with 40 people with shitty sound, and now on Wednesday it was with 600 others on a bigger stage with great sound. They got even better. Great vocalist, he had a ton of energy.

The Black Dahlia Murder has a plethora of songs more memorable than anything this digital recording studio has ever done, and Trevor's vox > than whoever this nobody is

Last name? Who cares? I know the last names of like 6 musicians in my entire library lol. Your comment just came across as weirdly aggressive, as if he has no fans, which he clearly does.

yooooo this album just won Archspire a Juno Award they expected to lose. They beat out The Agonist and Spiritbox and Danko Jones.

Glad to see such a monster of an album getting the recognition it deserves. Good for them. Funny that they were sure they would lose, they must be pretty pumped.
