One of my favorite emo-revival moments was seeing This Town Needs Guns, Foxing and The World is a Beautiful Place at a venue called 'The Basement' underneath a bar in Columbus Ohio. I was basically on-stage with the bands and it was ~2014 so the emo-revival train was really in its prime.
I am even more excited now to get to see Foxing and TWIBP over the next couple months soaring to unexpected heights.

id love that lineup
i've been dying to see Foxing/TWI play together too tbh
also i feel like those bands have been about equal in my head for the longest time but I think this album and TWI's overall current direction gives them the edge at this point

I’m not sure “best of emo revival” is that clear (nor do I think it needs to be). Both Pianos Become the Teeth and La Dispute would have to be part of the conversation in my opinion. All 3 (including TWIABP) have stacked discographies and are all so different.

"also i feel like those bands have been about equal in my head for the longest time but I think this album and TWI's overall current direction gives them the edge at this point"
When Foxing dropped Nearer My God I would easily put them a notch above TWIABP, but now this album is just so much more monumental then the relatively tame and poppy Draw Down the Moon. Regardless, both consistently great bands.
@Trois Pianos and La Dispute are both rock solid acts as well. La Dispute throws one hell of a show too

"Make Mistakes, cute track"
damn, gone as far back as their first demo that was recorded with a can, live sessions, singles and splits, even jammed that shitty Formlessness ep that's played backwards, yet I've never even heard this track existed, need to check asap

Im wondering how they're going to play the new songs live with one guitarist?

it took me forever to figure out what the heavier bits reminded me of, but it finally hit me.
a lot of this album sounds like Russian Circles at their peak. only better

@Grey I’m with you, pianos and la dispute do not belong in the same grouping. Totally different roots. Began significantly heavier than everyone else.

My new fav is We Saw Birds Threw The Ceiling. Something about the vocal harmonies really stick with me. Man there’s so much to unpack about this album it’s incredible.

Haven't thought about this band since college. Liked Harmlessness, but didn't get a ton of replays past "January 10th."
Surprised how very different the sound is here, but I really dig it. Those last two tracks are standout, but I like all the bite they have on the guitars now. Had this entire album in the rotation since it was released.
Also, fantastic to listen to while stoned if you're into that.

Quite a few of the calmer moments here (first half of We Saw Birds... in particular) sound a lot like All Human
