EP rules and is everything I want to hear from these guys. Sounds like a more refined Ascendancy, real shame we only got three songs and Bent is gone but I have high hopes for the new LP next year.
Getting Rudi was the right move too

Bent already worked on the new LP so I imagine that will be up to par too, but yeah I'm certainly not concerned with Rudi at all

i always thought heafy was like 47 but he's only 39
four years older than me

He started very young yeah, think he started to audition for metal bands when he was like 14/15

Yeah he wrote Ember at 15/16 and was 17 when the album was released

They sound so energetic on this release, I love it. The over-the-top solo sections and orchestral elements on 'The Phalanx' just screams 'Let's have fun!' to me.

Heafy is a brilliant musician. Dude is very talented - nice to hear the Ascendancy vibes on the new EP and like what has already been said, a new LP next year is something to look forward to.

Nope, I'll pass. Went to the same venue for another gig and it sucks heaps lol. No way I'm going to the festival either, my wallet would bleed out because of that.
Guess I'll jam Heriot at home bc I have no idea about them, new Trivium is still on the way and new Frontside drags. "Omen" bangs pretty hard though.

My remark about Frontside aged poorly lol.
'Tis still Trivium's second best.

Still my favorite Trivium, with Shogun as a close second

Their first couple of albums, along with their more recent output, are great.
I have a soft spot for these guys as they were the first band I ever saw live when I was 11. Looking forward to new stuff if it comes along this year.

Listened to this after a few years and most of the refrains are cheesy and forgettable
