"Sounds like a typical Tribulation discog to me."

that's weird because their second album is better than everything after it combined and a few extra odds and ends thrown in, they jumped the shark super fast and super hard. not that the latter stuff was bad, per se, but just not even 1/10th as good.

Tribulation is prob my fave 3.8 band (once their latest release is fixed by 0.1). My fave is also Formulas of Death, although Down Below grew on me just as much (and Down Below is true grower - I started by 3ing it!).

PS: def tied with FoH on 3.8 bands.

Full of Hell is a solid band for sure, I wouldn't really put any of their albums up there with The Inalienable Dreamless or Human 2.0, but for grindcore I like them more than most of the rest out there.

I feel like with Tribulation that the deeper they go into a lighter metal sound while maintaining the same vocal style, the more that vocal style clashes with their music. Sometimes, I find that a vocal / music clash can be a solid stylistic choice but with Tribulation it just kind of grates on me. I prefer their first two albums with that classic Swedish death metal sound.

See them live bro. That's all it took for me.

I kinda get what you're saying tho, and if any, I felt it more on the first few tracks on the last album.

I feel that the clash is what makes them special, those goth influences are sublime, their early stuff was great of course but same with Katatonia for me, there were/are plenty of bands doing that stuff.

There are plenty of bands doing what Katatonia did in the early days now, but at the time? No. I guess it's the Seinfeld problem, where it's been imitated so many times since then that it can feel generic even though it created that thing.

it's not bad at all, wouldn't be surprised if more electro-industrial bands come out with a sound similar to that

i've been spinning this a lot lately. i do feel that the first noise track overstays its welcome a little bit and i find myself skipping it. album is solid nonetheless
