Pure modern metalcore is definitely different then pure old school metalcore. Although the metalcore bands I prefer is Damnation A.D. Merauder, Poison the Well, and Varials. I like their more style of metalcore (At least coming from these bands) waaayy more then this.

Sun Killer is such a great opener. The breakdown at the end is kind of obvious and mediocre but the rest of the track is essentially perfect. These long notes sang over the simple syncopated riffs hit me right in the perfect spot. The choruses (especially the second, elongated one) are also a masterclass in melody writing.

Haha I hate Sun Killer so much, the breakdown is the only part I like.

Breakdown is the most meh part of the song for me, aside from the absurdly long build to it which almost derails the entire track.

This isn't holding up for me, I haven't really been back to it since release week. The parade of singles certainly didn't help things but idk, I feel like despite a fair amount of variation they played it kind of safe with this, really going for the streamlined approach. It makes me wish they had taken some bigger swings on at least a few tracks.

Yep it’s solid but not exactly requiring multiple listens. Sun Killer is weak

Yeah, this is good but I can't help but feel disappointed. Probably because they announced it 3 years in advance and released half the album as singles... but still.

yeah cant say ive come back to this a lot recently only jammed it like once this month. throw the title track on every now and again tho still rules

got into them late enough where i didnt hear any singles pre release but also the songwriting is j a little more basic than most of the stuff i jam like this which makes them less of a priority in my jamming rn

Still laughing at "Flowers will wilt, but the blue is eternal" since this album has a very low replay value.

Yeah this was very overhyped, haven't felt any desire to listen to it after it released.

Honestly yeah. Haven't had any desire to revisit this, but Secret Garden is in constant rotation.
