I do somewhat agree, and doesn't quite read like a 2.5 review to me. For instance, you gave praise to some tracks, Double Helix, Never Seen / Future Shock. Perhaps the entire album as a whole doesn't hold up for to give it anything above what you gave it, in that instance, that's understandable.

You're correct. I don't hate this.

Oh I really don’t like how they shoehorned in ‘sleep on, fly on’ in a different way to Bad Habits as a link between the two Colours…

If they’d have transitioned into that refrain at some point it could’ve been a real goosebumps moment for old fans

That run from Monochrome to Never Seen / Future Shock is amazing.

I had no hopes for this and then stupidly got my hopes up seeing all the 4-5 ratings.

A huge disappointment overall.

interesting, what did you not like? I initially didn't like it either, got better after more listens

The only thing I actively didn’t like was the ‘wacky for the sake of it’ sections. That’s why Colours 1 isn’t a 5 for me though so I was expecting it.

The big disappointment for me was I barely felt any emotion from the album. There was a point on Bad Habits and a point on Turbulent I think where I felt a bit of passion but in general it just felt like very talented musicians hitting a shit load of notes correctly but nothing more.

I’ll listen again later this week and maybe I’m just not in the right mood but it felt very bland.

I think he’s pulling the “it’s not indie pop folk” card.

Thanks for reviewing this by the way Gnocchi. I might disagree with every fiber of my existence, but it's still good that this got a staff review.

Wait I know that summary.

So if I 5 this, it goes straight to BNM, right?
