New Wolves track owns

Kinda beautiful but also dark and guttural

If it's even half as good as new Fen I'll be stoked

I haven't heard Fen in so long that they've put out three albums since I've listened to them, apparently.

man neither of these songs are working for me at all

the songs sound really... standard for them, i guess, but the production is utterly baffling. everything sounds so pillowy, hollow and thin.

I really dig both new songs, the lo-fi/raw production is not a weakness imo, but makes them sound more exciting. I feel the new album will be their best in a long time, we’ll see.

it doesn't sound 'lo-fi' to me at all - if anything it sounds more clinical than anything else they've created. the guitars are so clean they have absolutely no bite and the drums just sound sort of muffled and not in a lo-fi way. i'm definitely not hearing what you are.

there's like a whole lot of space that the instruments refuse to fill, nothing feels big or intense enough.

“no bite”, “muffled”, “nothing feels big or intense” is exactly what I meant by lo-fi. But the band considers these as a “dedication to the physical craft and analog production techniques”, lol! Anyways, both tracks have great compositions and convey that eerie atmosphere I like so much about this project. Muffled as it is, makes me wanna believe they recorded it in one take, in a cottage, high on a mountain while those wolves were banging on the door.

it's not analog it's just not good D: black cascade sounds super organic and it doesn't suffer these problems SO

you realize that two hunters, black cascade and celestial lineage were all analog tape recorded and yet sound way better than this? this isn't analog recording, it's just crap mixing.

yeah, I know, they are anal about being analog, aren't they?

this note from the band was just funny, but I have no problems with things sounding a bit muddy

muddy is ok.... empty and hollow isn't. hell my fav bm record of all time has a very muddy recording, it's all about what works for the material and this really doesn't.

m///////!

I'm so pumped. And ticket prices were reasonable. I was expecting to shell out like $60, but they were only charging $30 + AXS fees.
