I enjoy a lot of the lyrical content. Some of the beats and production are nice. It is just boring at times... not enough variation.

Pop albums that Sput rates in the 3.0-3.2 range with a load of zero day 1s tend to be good for some reason I think I'll check this

"It’s such a whiny take. It’s clear that people who make that take are just mad that popular music doesn’t specifically appeal to their tastes"

Never said I didn't like it.

"I think people who refuse to listen to ANY pop music just because most of it lacks substance is a wet ass take"

ye but also the idea that pop music (aka #relatablecontent) somehow lacks substance compared to half the unaired basement fanfic metal pedaled here is hysterical

"Wow you must have walked into the Coldplay thread to reply right after I posted too! What a coincidence!"

that take was dumb enough to be seen from space; this one is conveniently at the top of 40% of pages itt so ig see yourself out boi

pop music can definitely have substance and be very enjoyable.

this, unfortunately, doesn't hit those marks for me. not enough variations or creative risks taken here. it's better than her debut LP, but not by much I'd say. it will be interesting to see if her next album sticks to her familiar trends or breaks the mold, because this one didn't really stray too far from her comfort zone.

also, one thing i must say is that after a while, her whisper vibrato is irritating as all hell. its an ASMR hellscape at times.

Boring, kinda bad but not awful. Definitely don't get the hype. Lost Cause sucked so much, oh my God.

"Not bad, but I dont really get the hype. It’s pretty boring and one note, no? Daring would be if she actually attempted to deviate from her usual whispery vocal inflection and backing music."

Agreed hard with this guy. So much of this is a big nothing-sandwich with grating ASMR whispering. Nothing about this strikes me aa bold or daring; I don't think it gets much safer than this. I wasn't a big fan of her last album but I'd say it's bolder than this
