yeah this and watershed are probably the most technically demanding on guitar at least. Every time I've seen them Mikael bitches about how tough the songs from this are before they play it lol

I don't see any single part of GR being less than "average" opeth, and honestly idk if I could even pinpoint more than one spot I could say that about

The Grand Conjuration is prob the weakest track on GR cos it's so repetitive and drags quite a bit. I still dig it though, partly for sentimental reasons as it was one of the first Opeth songs I heard along with Ghost of Perdition.

beneath the mire and atonement bore me to no end but ghost of perdition and harlequin forest are two of the best tracks they've ever done

I love both of those Jamie yeah and TGC is the most repetitive on the album agreed but it's still p cool



and yeah dom ghost of perdition is prob a top 3 opeth song for me

Beneath the Mire doesn't drag at all for me. It's kinda unpredictable (unlike The Grand Conjuaration) and it has some of the album's most interesting parts.
