this is legit special and I just found out the album is largely inspired by the Northwest and Washington State in particular and they're kicking off the tour in my city in September I am 100% going

Been listening to this consistently for the last week. Feeling pretty guttered, ready to die etc, but this shit keeps me clawing back from the void.
The closeout of I Lie Awake, Color of Sky and the Flash is an incredible run.

finally getting around to this and holy wow Wings of Desire is stunning

probs my AOTY
you've been insanely on point this year Sowing. We generally have at least some overlap but I think you've reviewed the majority of my favorite albums this year!

That's awesome man! I'm actually working on a list right now which includes singing this album's praises, and it's tempting me to bump this to a 5. It's kind of ridiculous how gorgeous the atmosphere is. Every time I listen to it expecting it to wear off due to the subdued nature and slow progression, but with each spin it sounds more immaculate and heavenly instead.

yeah I've thought about slapping a 5 on it already as well
not sure if you saw my previous comment but all the reasons you love this album make me believe you'll also love Juliana Daugherty - Light. It's a similar listening experience imo, despite this one leaning more towards dream pop/shoegaze they have a similar "subdued nature and slow progression" that you're talking about

It's solid, really pleasant, really pretty. Audrey's voice has all the right shades of breathy warmth. The musical equivalent of a weighted blanket.

Thought this was pretty nice in the end, lovely summernight cool
Sowing (and Atari tbh), it's getting a little disconcerting that you're dishing out the heavies for stuff like this and *still* ain't heard a Mazzy Star record >@:[ getting heavy vibes from them and chilltimes Yo La Tengo and this is nice

I've heard So Tonight That I Might See (it was on my dream pop starter pack, haha) but judging by your ratings maybe I should explore their other albums ;)

Mazzy are forever massively overrated but still essential listening for dream pop fans.

Half of that statement is true
