i wasnt even as hot on this ep as everyone else but theres def an added sting to the new album knowing that a little over a year ago they were putting out songs like nora and forlorn

I think it clearly signals they’re making the music they want to make. It just so happens most of us don’t like it as much lol

Not surprising you feel that way. You and I have strangely overlapping music taste with some completely opposite opinions at the same time.

Yeah idk Color Decay just really hits that emotional spot for me. This is fun jam stuff while songs like Twenty-Five are a punch in the gut in all the right ways for me.

Act and CD are both awesome but I also totally understand people not liking them too

I just get annoyed at all the "oh why are they getting emotional" like Dead Throne and 8:18 werent two of the most heartbreaking albums in metalcore.

I thought Act was an interesting experiment that I actually jammed quite a bit. CD went a bit too far in the radio rock, poppy direction for me. I don’t mind the emotion conveyed, just not a fan of the sound musically.

ZII is just their bread and butter sound I already loved. Wish they had continued more in the vein of Transit Blues. While it wasn’t a perfect album, I loved the sound they were going for throughout a lot of it.

Honestly just happy to see this band alive and well, still going strong after all these years. One of the few OGs still consistently doing their thing and reinventing themselves.

Hoping there's more "Twenty-Five" type heartbreakers to come.

the choruses on color decay are mind numbingly boring and all of them are structured exactly the same way

idk why this band that used to have a really good pulse on vocal lines decided to base a whole album around the scale degrees that comprise of hot cross buns lmao

You leave buns out of this. I mean your name is one mistype away from buns.

Can totally see much of the argument that “color decay sounds like one song”. If you like that one song it’s awesome
