Birnam Wood has its moments and I think it was an early fav, but yeah I'd probs put it at the bottom here along with Blue Hen (which holds up better in sequence)

Yup, Blue Hen and Birnam Wood are my two least favorites as well. They're not bad they're more just supporting tracks than standouts.

Great re-review, Sowing. Interestingly enough, this album soundtracked a trip to Israel I took back in 2015 where we prayed the shema each morning. Fascinating to hear it/say it in that context and then hear it in the eye-of-the-storm moment on Rainbow Signs.

PH is one of the most devastating and relatable records to me. you come around to Mexican War Streets yet Sowing? you were always wildin for being lukewarm on one of their biggest bangers

Untitled is still better for me, but this one is outstanding. Dorothy is a sleeper.

Red Cow, Mexican War Streets and Rainbow Signs are like 3 of their best songs in their entire discography. This might be my favourite mwY album.

same with Birnam Wood. I'm probably in the minority of thinking that Magic Lantern Days is the weakest song on PH. With that being said, it's still a great track.

I always thought Magic Lantern was outstanding lyrically but honestly just kinda boring musically, would have much preferred Chernobyl 1985 make the cut

legit couldn't tell you a single thing about Birnam Wood tho and I've been listening to this for six years lmao
