I don’t know what you were expecting, I was just anticipating some smart alec dropping by to tell me that’s an insurmountable amount of music (without the needed timeframe).
Debut is still my preference.

“A good mix is a good mix regardless of genre”
Yes but what is good? What I’m trying to convey is that if you are admittedly someone who binges metal from time to time and I am someone who hasn’t gone a day without the heavy in a few decades then we are unlikely to find common ground on what is the good good.

I totally understand where you’re coming from, and all I can say is I’ve been mixing music for a long time so I just have my own idea of what sounds good and doesn’t. Different genres might have certain styles of mixing, but at the end of the day a muddy mix and a clear mix stand apart

Fuck me this is good. I heard a random riff on Youtube the other day, then the first song did not impress me at all. gave it a random spin the other day and maaaaan I got crushed. love some parts

Yeah the opener is not bad but it's kinda just there. It's more of an extended intro track, attempting to set the mood/atmosphere, which it does okay with.
They honestly could've just smashed you in the face with Towers right away and that would've been fine.

[2] to everything you just said, except I do think this is a start to finish kinda album so I'm okay with a little drawn outness to this since it's all executed really well

actually like the opener quite a bit, but ye ppl need that dere adrenaline right from the get go nowadays

It's like Mastodon but actually good

Jesus wept smh.
These lads aren’t fit to lick ‘don’s muddy boots. Show some respect.

I don't remember Masto's last album very well, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is at least better than that one.
Also surprised Demo didn't 4.5 this

This is better than the last Mastodon record yeah, doesn’t mean they’re comparable overall. I haven’t enjoyed the ‘don much since CtS, but their past works/influence still warrants recognition.

Lol, probably best to just assume I’ll whack a sub-4 score on virtually anything tbh. The debut is currently sporting a 3.5.

It's just got that aesthetic that makes me think Demo's gonna love this. Not sure if it's the album art, the blend of genres, or what. There's a few users here in which I have that sixth sense.

I did anticipate a 4 after the first couple of spins. It just hasn’t held my attention as much since and the mixing is a bit off-putting.
It certainly has a couple of great tracks though, probably a harsh rating but I don’t want to revisit it for a while.

I have it in good quality on my DAC and I don´t think the mix is any offputting. where are you guys listening to it?

The demon sometimes overthinks his rates so much he always end up rating as low as possible, specially on these things you like to call "hyped", although noone knows this shit around my reality.

nah Demon's just hypeproof and probably the better for it
