@in7hox yeah, the debut is heavier overall but that riff section of the closer just before the 7 minute mark is the heaviest thing they've ever done. Just absolutely massive.

closers even more satisfying with the delicate asphodel.
also those beautiful little base lines that start around 0:50 @ mleccha. somehow that section reminded me of ne obliviscaris.

The hardcore element your sensing comes from the sludge.
It’s prog/atmo sludge, also known as ‘post’ metal.

Graeme and Lindberg?
Makes sense CoL did always sound great

Yeah man, Magnus Lindberg really made magic with that mastering. The mix is pretty good too but I think it could be slightly better in places, the real game changer here I think is Lindberg.

‘Demon , you dig this?‘
Yes, I just haven’t gotten around to deciding how much yet. I’ve also been listening to the debut, which I prefer so far.
Of course I’m gonna agree with Dewi re the Lindberg love (2). My slight issues are also with the mix.

Great stuff. I'd give it a four if the shorter tracks pulled a little more weight.
