The world would be a better place if someone hadn't brought the nazi theme to this thread, but it seems some people just want to watch the world burn.

Good review and album. It can't really come close to embodying the terror of SP... nothing compares to it. No matter how well prepared I think I am or how lucid I am during the experience I fucking shit myself (not literally thank god) when I awaken in the midst of an episode...but as far as music goes it creates an oppressively oneiric atmosphere that few artists are capable of.
Glad I took a punt and pre ordered this on vinyl.
Maybe putting this ugly ass hag on my bookshelf will cause the spooky sleep demon to throw up the horns and walk off in it's pair of semen stained 3 quarter camouflage cargo shorts

Spirit Possession is pretty awesome, but it plays black metal pretty straight imo. Idk, I'd much rather have this tbh. Spirit Possession doesn't really add anything to the BM canon besides a great record aping those early 2nd wave and late 1st wave sounds with little innovation. It riffs for sure, though.

You're the man.
The new Panzerfaust is another good BM release that came out this year, it's a shame that nobody has reviewed it yet.

I don't know Naas's political beliefs and honestly I don't care. His music doesn't carry any extreme right-wing messages, if it did, I would certainly not listen to it.
However I'm not a hypocrite, if what you suggest is true, I'd rather he wasn't a right-wing radical, yet there are a number of artists I love who I don't share the same ideals, like Roger Waters for example.

sure, i think its good for the info to be out there so that everyone can decide for themselves how they feel

Very poor line to draw considering a staple of the far right is the use of dogwhistles rather than explicit messaging. There are loads of NS bands that would scrape under that standard.

yeah, weird take. I'd much rather know if the artist is a fucking fascist before I potentially give them any money

Did you find any political messages in his music?

I wish more people in the main BM scene could make music without being fascists or having fascist ties. lol Always stands as a barrier between me and the art. BM politics really just suck outside of RABM.

We have established in several threads that it's possible to enjoy art from evil baddies.
Christian holiday hymns are where I draw the line though. That shit is too fucking evil.

Sure, but Spirit Possession aren't just aping any 2nd wave BM band. They're aping Katharsis, and they bloody well nailed it, too. Which is great, actually, since Katharsis haven't released anything since 2009. God, I loved that band.
