a classic album. I also disagree with claims that Bon Jovi was "Hair Metal". Here's why:
1. The main theme of Hair Metal is sex, parties, and women. It is not a theme I dislike, I'm just saying that's Hair Metal's theme.
2. Bon Jovi did not consider themselves metal. So if you call them gay Hair Metal, you're kind of complimenting them (unless you hate metal, and consider it to be an insult).
You Give Love a Bad Name-If you listen to this song and still don't consider Bon Jovi to be a Rock band, you need to go to Hell.
Livin' On a Prayer-One of Bon Jovi's lighter songs (guitar-wise). Most people who want to try out Bon Jovi will probably listen to this song first, and deny that they are a Rock band. Those people can suck my dick. A Rock song doesn't have to be super-heavy to be Rock. It just needs spirit, positivity, and all-around fun. The electric guitar is required as well, but of course this song has it. In my opinion, the greatest Rock song of all time.
Wanted Dead or Alive-One of the greatest riffs of all time. So simple...yet so awesome. Basically everyone loves this song. The guitar solo is pure electricity, and the lyrics are BA.
But what really impresses me about this album is the vocals, particularly "Livin' On a Prayer". Anyone who says Jon Bon Jovi is a terrible singer needs to talk to a vocal coach. Because I GUARANTEE that when you attempt to sing "Livin'...", you will wimp out on the chorus. Guaranteed. Especially when it gets to the..."Oh...we're halfway there. WHOOOOOA! Livin' On a Prayer!!!!!!" NO ONE CAN SING THAT. NO ONE! I CAN'T EVEN DESCRIBE HOW HARD THAT CHORUS IS TO SING! And don't even try to sing the outro either...you'll die tryin'.
Thanks for reading.

I love how the people who say it's bad are the same people with christina Aguilera as their avatar, she might has a good voice but she doesn't use it right. Anyway...
this album is pretty much kicks ass, I wore it for a long time in my teenage years, catchy anthems, a lot of good riffs and nice driving music.
well, of course bon jovi are hair metal but they were pretty different, they didn't talk so much about sex, girls and stuff, but they had the same sound other hair metal bands had. All their 80's album are pretty good, and good review sir, good job.

Bon Jovi's best album and Glam/Pop/Gay metal's pinnacle along with Def Leppard's Hysteria.
I think the staff of Sputnik should add the Glam/Pop Metal genre because Bon Jovi IS NOT a Hard Rock band.
|
| |
not gonna happen buddy
plus i doubt anybody would want glam metal appearing on their charts
i mean, how embarrassing

"i mean, how embarrassing"
I know, i'm not a fan of the genre either.
But naming Bon Jovi a hard rock band means that they belong in the same music genre with LEGENDARY hard rock bands like Led Zep, Aerosmith, GN'R, Deep Purple, Van Halen, and Scorpions.
Now how embarrassing is that ??
|
| |
all of them are bands i couldn't care for so i'm not sure how bothered i could be
