i honestly find ToT as a whole and just their obligatory “creep by radiohead” esque song on each album to be more alt rock than this as a whole but i see what u mean. this album’s version of that song I think is catch a fade but they nailed that one imo. i think songs like just a story are def more aly rocky for them than usual but that song is one of the best here for me

i def get why someone would like this the least of other nothing albums bc it is much different. if i had heard this in 2014 when GOE came out there’s a good chance i would like it more than that but i’m afraid this has not yet broken the nostalgia barrier for me
the feeling of that whole album is so truly and blatantly hopeless and apathetic and drugged out , and they were mostly unheard of at that point besides some DIY scene acclaim for downward years to come, so u know they meant it , also is largely responsible for the slew of boring shoegaze bands that have come out in the past 6 years lol. but it’s a legacy nonetheless and that album is still untouched
