I am enjoying it I was just expecting more really probably unreasonably and unexplainable since I saw the very birth of this live!. I just expected every song to kill and theres a few that dont really move me but when they set the bar so high by putting 'The Valley' out before hand thats hard to maintain. If you look at how many people on this thread are like 'I could never get into thou but this, I love' is probably a good example of why. Its like a more accessible thou record which is understandable given any turn offs over Vox. I cant really put my finger on it. I think I expected every song a 5 maybe...it leaves me a little short every time even ending on such a massive high. Its still got that doooomy filth in parts but I havent spend my entire life becoming an Elitist twat just to agree with some Coal Chamber fans who now 'Get thou' haha : )

Yeah I'm glad I haven't checked The Valley before...its such a perfect closer.

I really love Thou...and their way to adapt to different styles/concept/ moods, while being them such a wall of sound throughout their career with such an own signature of sound, ending creating their own unique subgenre of blackened doomsludge grunge lol



This is prob my 3rd/4th Thou, after Tyrant and Magus...competes with Heathen and Rendon.



At the end of the day, I acknowledge its a more accessible take, but nothing here violates what Thou is about, and if it brings more people to check Thou, all the better!

I mean I have this 5d so I'm just ranking, its just really hard to compare this to such a different beast...Heathen is a tough job...I like it a lot and there's def things there I love about Thou you just don't see here. Heathen sometimes its wonderful, some others I just can't go through it, but that's not exactly a flaw, its the nature of the piece/ beast I guess...
