I'm sorry to say that, as for the nomination of my disappointment of the year, it's between this and Elder's.

an MR-RL time

with that out of the way since it was the only thing I could think about when I read the summary, I really feel like there has been a pretty significant drop in the quality of Progslaved after RIITIIR

Glad to see this get a review, just jammed this album for the third time this afternoon, still evaluating how I feel about it. Definitely solid like everything this band does.

After my first listen, I feel that there are some really strong moments in this album that really encapsulate what Enslaved are trying to achieve in their mature years. But at the same time, considering the quality of the individuals involved in the project and their track record, I would likely rate their new album at least a 7/10 even if it was a Justin Bieber cover record.

I'm somewhere in the middle. Been listening off and on for the past decade or so

I see yeah, more or less the same here. I think that fans that stem from the 90s BM era don't quite get into this into Progslaved as much as people who got into them during the last decade. Might have to edit that in the rev. hmmm...

E blew my socks off. It had so many cool elements of old prog in there - I heard Close to the Edge in Hiindsiight, Red in Axis of the Worlds, and Animals all over.

Damn this kicks ass m/

I dunno what to call it exactly, Viking metal or folk metal? Whatever it is, its fucking good.

viking metal is more black metal-y and triumphant, basically Bathory-y.

This is blackened prog, or prog-tinged black metal or like you would all agree: Progslave.
