Soulja boy >>>> last 3 sufjan albums, agreed with ryus

Felt like Carrie and Lowell live ruined all those songs to be honest.

I agree with the notion that all music starts at a 1/5 (in Sput terms), in ‘real’ terms it starts at 0/5 or 0%.

If only I could give Carrie & Lowell zero out of five...

"Giving this a 1 is basically like saying this is in league with Soulja Boy and The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus."
I dont see the problem

people who weren't fans of Adz will hate this 100%

I actually think it sounds better than Age of Adz but heavily leans towards that album in sound instead of favorites Illinois and Carrie & Lowell. Still have time to see where this ends up for me. You do have a well reasoned review.

I feel there are great ideas and a great album buried in this mess. That’s the most positive thing I can say but as this stands... it’s just awful. The first half of the opener is actually quite good. Shame he had to ruin it with the last half.

This is like Danse Manatee, Everything Now, and King of Limbs had a threesome. King of Limbs shoots a load on the back of Everything Now but Everything Now impregnates Danse Manatee and this is the weird baby that comes of all of it. That’s how literally bad this sounds to me.

God that really does sound bad hahahaha, sorry man
I only listened to this once but I was stoned off my ass and remember like 30% of what happened

If you listen to this sober, it will be about the same result, but probably less.
I’m still trying to figure out how these songs left the studio. Sufjan surely wouldn’t approve of this trash would he? I would hope not.

"imo 1s don’t need to be justified. all music starts at 0 (or a 1 via sput’s rating system) and builds up. if it fails to ascend, then a 1 it is"
imo imo music starts at around 2.5/5 or so but in most cases for me, it stays right there hehe ;)

^that is actually a good approach. Going into this with a 2.5 isn’t outlandish. It’s just the other shit I had to sit through made my stomach turn.

Get outta here with the TKOL blasphemy.
I just wish this album was about half the length. The darker and more ambient moments are enjoyable, but it's does descend into a confusing and inconsistent mess at times. Die Happy is really good and I dig the opener.
