I think all their albums sound summer-y to me

sent 2 songs from this album to my parents. I try to help keep them somewhat current since they basically have the same CD collection from 30 years ago. anyways, my mom just sent a text that she loves Sunblind, haha

I'm about to do the same for my dad this weekend because he's a huge Simon and Garfunkel fan and I turned him on to Fleet Foxes 3 years ago =D

great minds think alike! yeah, my dad loves Simon and Garfunkel as well. to be honest I think this album will appeal to that fanbase more than the typical Fleet Foxes release.

already got another text that they loved the 2nd track I sent as well (Featherweight). guess I'm sharing the whole album with them :]

butt.

Band isn’t usually for me so much but this is reeeal pretty. Hopefully I keep up motivation to listen a few more times at least, could be a mainstay if I give it a proper chance

My parents are both decent Fleet Foxes fans, my mom tried it on release day and wasn’t super impressed. Haven’t heard from my dad on it yet.

Makes me curious what other bands everyone is sharing with their mom and dad behind the scenes lol... or if Fleet Foxes are just special that way

Your parents listen to young people music? Whoa

Only at my urging, they don't do it spontaneously. When I was younger I'd try to force them to listen to Yellowcard and Brand New, so it took some time to earn their trust back. They prefer "easy listening". On the slate this weekend is this album, Kacey Musgraves' Golden Hour, and Honey Harper's Starmaker. They lean in the folk/ country direction.

Oh and my dad loves Taylor Swift which is hilarious even though I don't know why (because I do too)

I love how everyone talks like parents have bad/boring taste...my parents both have better taste than I do tbh

I need to just accept that although in theory I should love Fleet Foxes, they just aren't going to click with me. I have tried several releases and after the 2nd listen through this, I just don't understand the hype.

This is pretty darn enjoyable. Leans heavy on harmony. Nice

So fucking bland. “Featherweight” seems like the only good track. No idea if I’ll even listen to this again.

Interesting that you'd single out Featherweight. Seems like a barometer of this album's sparkly, lightweight nature - like if you enjoy that song you'd enjoy the rest.

To me it was the only song that stood out with a great verse and decent chorus. Also love the unusual piano arrangement in there.

Yeah the piano arrangement is blissful.

As far as choruses go, Can I Believe You takes the cake

I really enjoyed this. Never was huge into this band even when Helplessness Blues first came out. While many may enjoy their folkier sound, this new direction is just as good. Serene, feel good album.
