This album is incredible imo. I really wish HUD was as ambitious as this and TPE, because we'd have another classic trilogy of albums from him.

This album already makes me miss Tyler Bates
It's really good, but the lack of Bates is glaringly obvious.

I feel like their collaboration reached its finishing course with HUD, the quality of that album makes it abundantly clear. Would love to see another shooter Jennings produced album and then see him move on to another collaboration, if he’s still got another album in him. Just jammed this again today and it’s incredible how Manson has pulled out another blinder this far into his career

His recent output has been so good because he's more focused now on making good music than trying to be shocking.
Scooter Jennings is good, but not good enough to where I'm praising him to the level of Bates. I think he has potential but he really needs to go even harder into the digital hellscape he ventured into in this album.

Bates is a great producer but HUD was a complete dud, despite the production. We Are Chaos is the best stuff that Manson has put out since Holy Wood.

I found the production on HUD to be a bit flat tbh -- mainly in the sections that were trying to tap into his visceral years.
The production on this is absolutely amazing and shines no matter what the style is.

Couldn't disagree more with yall.
I think Manson belongs in the Blues Rock/Metal genre and I think HUD, while not as Bluesey as Pale Emperor, certainly continued to really hammer that Blues is in his freaking blood.
A lot of people r saying that WAC is somewhat Country, but I don't really see it. I see it as more of a return to his Industrial roots with bits of cinematic Southern Rock splashed every now and then. It's good, but I feel like Manson hasn't yet pushed his Blues to it's full potential. Tyler could really bring out the human in Manson, whereas I feel like this is him hiding behind the curtain again.

Really? I feel like the only tracks on HUD that feel even remotely bluesy are Threats Of Romance, Saturnalia, and Kill4Me. The latter track being more of an industrial/pop remix of Third Day Of A Seven Day Binge. The rest of the album doesn't really feel like it has much connective tissue with The Pale Emperor. Pretty standard rock/industrial stuff that feels more like a cross between Born Villain and a poor imitation of his earlier work. The best track on HUD is by far the title track in my opinion. And that song has a classic rock vibe that he fully explored on We Are Chaos.
The Pale Emperor and We Are Chaos work well because they are straightforward and they're relatively consistent in both tone and quality. HUD is all over the place and the lyrics are some of his absolute worst. The Pale Emperor does confidence and grit better and We Are Chaos does introspection and melody better.

Such a good album. Has a very different sound, almost poppy at times. Reminiscent of Mechanical Animals a bit.

I think this pales compared to Pale Emperor as far as late-career output, can never quite get into it as much as I would like. But Paint You With My Love is a fucking banger

I haven't listened to any new manson in years. I thought I would throw this on see what he was doing now and I was heaps surprised. I'm going back to Pale and Heaven Upside Down currently.

Emperor had no bad songs, this has some skippable tracks. Also, I fucking hate how nasally his vocals have become. It's hard to enjoy his destroyed vocal chords at this point
