"Agreed, I feel like this record may be the first where Manson has truly detatched himself from his 90's sound and actually embraced a new direction."

I'm pretty sure that was Pale Emperor, he just backtracked a bit with HUD and now he's moving away from 90's MM again

This is the pandemic soundtrack we deserve.

I think the best way for Manson to evolve as an artist is to cover the Angry Video Game Nerd theme song. Just throwing that out there. Someone needs to make it happen

Maybe I need to give it more time but I don't seem to get the hype...

This record really surprised me! For now sitting on a 3,5, but I can see this getting bumped up to a 4.

the vinyl for this got delayed, hence the video for it being so late, but if you're interested the link to the video is now at the bottom of this review.

i'm loving this more and more with every listen, only thing that ruins it in places are indeed his lyrics.

i can't help but crawl into myself every time i hear "you're dead longer than you're alive" in "infinite darkness". he probably thought he was being really profound as well lol

It's as classy as TPE but I would say it's his best since Holy Wood. The production on this thing is friggin' incredible.

Manson's last three albums are quite nice really.

They feel like a trilogy.

I should check those two. After I bought the high end of low when it came out I swore off Manson and this is my first time since recovering from that to listen to new Manson

Just listen to this and pale emperor, you can skip the last one, I found it to be a nostalgic swing and a miss

His past three LPs are all solid 7/10's in my book. My buddy is a huge MM fan and he recently told me the title track on this is actually him talking to his newly married wife, not about the pandemic or anything like that. Brian seems to be in a good place, his interviews have been fun and coherent, and his music seems more focused. The buddy I mentioned snagged a limited picture disc LP of this record with artwork entitled, "Never-ending Astral Vampire", which I honestly wish the name of the album was XD
