First album was awesome, couldn’t really get into the 2nd but this one has grown on me a lot.

I seem to recall the second one took a while to grow on you Sitar. Who knows what the future holds!

Yea, second album grew on me over the course of about a week or 2 though. I've listened to this a bunch of times over the past month and while there are some good tunes on it (Redshift in particular) it doesn't really gell with me as a whole. I'll probably revisit at some later point and see if it resonates any differently.

whut the fuck is up with the mixing on this album? Vocals are super low and the kick sticks out like dogs balls.

I like the way the mix is since Elliot has a strong voice. The drums were mixed perfectly

I respectfully disagree but I guess that's just opinions. The drums just don't sit right in the mix for me. The album has some bangers though, mainly the first two tracks.

I personally like a very drum-forward mix (especially when the drumming is this good) so I'm a fan of this one. The vocals are a bit low, but it comes off more atmospheric to me, and Elliot's got the power to rise above when the moment calls for it

tl;dr opinions

My buddy and I were talking about this this weekend actually and even though he's a big fan of two we came to the agreement that this one has way more energy than that album. There are also some unexpectedly heavy moments on it (looking at you Animal Mother 1:40)

I get a Saosin S/T vibe from a lot of their stuff.

I might give this one more try. It was kinda just fading into the background while I was listening so wasn't keeping my attention very well

The end isn't the strongest, but damn the middle is just jam packed with memorable moments.

I've never not heard a nolly mixed disc with non-pumping bass drum lines

JP Bouvet was probably one of the best names to get out off the market to go after Rudinger left, that guy is insane. Also a proficient songwriter tbh

I completely overlooked this year because their sophomore was a dud in my books, but. . .

Could never bring myself to listen to these guys, dunno why. I know Elliot Coleman's a good singer and Alex Rudinger is a good drummer, despite not really liking his more rigid style in the newest Intronaut record.

I also did not like Intronaut's last, because their drummer was already god-tier
