This album sucked.

Puzzling. But that's not the worst of it. Easily the most boring MS album musically. At least Mirrors had banger hooks. Bonus: production here sucks.

This album sounds like a band that wanted to pack it in for a couple years (afaik this is the case) but figured they'd throw one more out so their bro (old singer) could bang one out with the boys again. Weak, weak album. No conviction, very little creativity, sounds bad, you should feel bad for enjoying it.

This album could be outstanding - I even WANT it to be outstanding - but the production is so bafflingly poor I can't get past it. If the song writing/performances were on par or released around the same time as, let's say, Symphony X's "Paradise Lost" I'd be able to excuse it. However, the performances aren't of that caliber and this album was released a decade-and-a-half later. I struggle to rate this anything above average. Better production immediately takes this into 3.5-4 territory. Better performances would, as well, but because we're lacking synergy between band and production it can never be higher than average IMO. Who am I? A literal fucking nobody. Fair enough. Consider the aforementioned Paradise Lost or the original LOG As The Palaces Burn for examples of what I mean as far as synergy between band and production. Neither album has stellar production, but they're both certified bangers where the specific production adds to "it" - whatever "it" is.rBecause "Liminal Rite" lingers somewhere in the middle with production akin to the black head on your nose that you resign to ignoring because you can't address it otherwise, we must rate this average, even if we really, really want to like it. rPS: I'm sure you're really, really handsome and it's just that darn blemish you can't get rid of that's ruining your rizz.

Karl imitated first, but he didn’t need to do double tracking like how Jesse did and a lot of core vocalists were doing at the time.

controller is a pretty untouchable apex but i still feel like this is a pretty steep drop from eeeevrrything they did. like im a huge absent light fan i got that homie 4.5d. this is really the only thing theyve done that isnt the level of quality i expect from them

Onionbubs - Absent Light obliterates this in every conceivable way. This album is hot garbage. I can't believe people rate it above a 2.5 at most in any circumstance. It is no way better than "an okay" listen.

Jesse sucks, Karl was a huge upgrade in every way. There's another metalcore band where their original singer named Jesse sucked, too. I wonder if there's something to that.
