Most bigger bands are just brands and not a creative outlet. Just the name of the game.
That said this album is on brand and I enjoy it. Same goes for the new Testament and The Black Dahlia Murder.

An album just to bring food to the table

I could have sworn this band has a song called Checkmate on every one of their fuckin albums
|
| |
You know I swear they already had a song called Checkmate as well, must have been thinking of Cheated or something
|
| |
checkmate came out 4 months ago so that could be why it feels like that

this album is the definition of just "fine"

Never liked these guys and doesn't look like this'll be one to bring me into the the fold. Opener is pretty standard modern metal

If with fine you mean blatantly mediocre, i agree

so since LoG clearly no longer sits on the throne, who does? Or who is most likely to claim it?

I wasn't sold on the first listen. I've heard it 10 times since, and man this thing is great.

You guys are wrong about this release. If you crank it up on some studio monitors and give it a serious listen, you will see that this is actually a great album by LOG. I think VII and Resolution were kind of weak albums after a great series of albums from Wrath to As the Palaces Burn. But they have definitely have some new life blown into their music, I think the addition of their new drummer may have contributed to this. Resurrection of Man is by far the best track on this album, imo. Liked/Loved every track besides 2,8,9.

You heard the man, our opinions are wrong, we just need to blast it on some monitors.

lol bro same, same. idk this album is good, just like all of their albums are. but their first 3, and especially As the Palaces Burn, are genre classics.

I'm a fan of this band and I'm not hard to satisfy when it comes to mainstream metal bands whose sound I enjoy. Even if they don't change up their sound...I don't care about any of that, just give me something I'm here for.
That being said, this is easily their weakest just for the fact that I don't see myself replaying any of these tracks in the future. This is definitely listenable and a an alright time while I'm jamming it, but there's no real bangers on here.

I agree on your rant, while this isn't particularly bad, it's such a mediocre effort that left too much to be desired, that's why a 2.5 to me it's the most fair rank i could possibly give to it

dis is notta fuckin invatayshun

LoG was just way more badass before Redneck came along. Mark letting his blues in is just slowly ruining them imo, with a few flashes of brilliance here and there (Desolation for example).
