I could be wrong, but the mixing on this album sounds super flat.
Interesting. Expand please. I know there's some half dodge VBR files floating around that do lack some depth particularly around the vocals and that bass feel. However the actual 320's seem to do really well between headphones and larger speakers. Not trying to get into another bitrate discussion but, yeah, it's noticeable.

This is pretty decent. However, the production, much like with all CA albums seems fairly unbalanced, and this album in no way feels like an interesting musical progression for the band.

I tried with this one, but then I re-listened to their old albums and now I like this less. This is still better than In Contact, but not by much. New CH just doesn't hit me the same way

@Nocte I'm no sound engineer myself, but someone who is referred to this as missing heights on the low ends. My guess is that if you don't boost these type of frequencies enough, it's gonna sound a bit compressed overall and doesn't give you the warm feeling of many modern prog bands. Seems to be a style choice and personal preference, though.

real good listen. the hook in Slow Violence is sooooo good. Salt has to be the clear highlight, you can tell how much effort was put into that one. Nothing bad to say really, I'll take a solid under 50 minute prog album any day.
