It must have some Finnish qualitites, cos the melodies on the first listens reminded me of early Amorphis.

Sure it does! Tbh, it mostly reminded me of 'Anthems To The Welkin At Dusk' - but this is much better. And maybe some Immortal-ish vibes here and there(?)

Just in, sounds pretty good. Thought this would be very cheesy but the symphonics are well 'hidden' thus far. This goes hard

The symphonic layer merges nicely with the music.

This is scratching a nice black metal itch without having to get too silly/obnoxious.

One of Light, One of Soil rules. I wish the album followed that lower tone more often, it would give it a nice balance....I really dig the closer too, don't ask me why X)

one of my all time favorite bands if you can believe it. this is a truly surprising comeback, it's like they never skipped a beat.

Wonder if they still hold up to new ears. The production here is infinitely better.

Trying to survive COVID's economic chaos, but everything is fine, one step at a time.

This is so good, nothing mindblowing but just scratches that symphonic black metal itch I haven't felt in a long time.

"this is one of the most enjoyable albums I've heard this year so far"

[2] Pretty much. One spot on my year end list is reserved for this one, for sure.
