"I wish for once there wouldn't be a new metal album that would go below an average rating of 4.0"

I mean there's a reason why the new Ulcerate album is at a 4.5 avg tbh

"nope you rag on metalcore all time, you've built that rep now, good for you I guess"

lmfao no he doesn't, he gave HSB a 4 review

Marsbro, I was referring to a different strain of core you and I both listen to. You know it.

If you're referring to THAT then yeah, that part of the genre's been devoid of quality for a good long time now.

Also, do I spy 5s for this?

I respect Ulcerate's new record more than I actually enjoy it. It's another one of those albums where the talent is self-evident but then I also question if I want to listen to some dude disintegrate his vocal cords for an hour. The guitars are excellent throughout, though.

Trivium were enjoyable for me during the Shogun era. Sort of interested in seeing how this one holds up by comparison.

Some impressive riffs here, but every song sort of follows the same pattern. If you take a 30 second clip of each of these tracks I wouldn't really be able to distinguish them. Could grow with additional listens but the best part of this is the guitar work; doesn't seem like much effort was put into developing the melodies.

The most enjoyable thing about this album are the longer songs’ bridges imo.

The songs are all very distinct imo, so that’s an interesting take Sowing

Glad they kept the drummer and hope it stays that way. I'll give this more listens.

This feels like a less good version of TSATS. Some very solid tracks though!
