Caustic is one of their greatest achievements yeah

Is this like other Trivium albums where it's too damn long for its own good?
|

Haven't liked these guys since The Shogsters album but I will check this

This is actually their shortest album

It‘s 46 minutes long so no...
The good thing about Trivium albums being a bit on the longer side was that you could remove some songs you didn‘t like and still end up with a decent runtime.

Shogun is the only one that breaks an hour tho? @Xeno

BTW Sin and the Sentence deserves that 3.9, its literally a combo of their three best records below it.

I always thought In Waves got too much hate. I mean Inception of the End, Watch the World Burn, Caustic are the Ties That Bind, Forsake Not the Dream, Of All These Yesterdays, and Shattering the Skies Above are all some of their best songs. And several of the other songs are heavy as hell.

@joshieboy: Its about as reminiscent as their last album was. So if you didn't like that you're out of luck

Definitely agree that In Waves is underrated. It has the same problems this and TSATS has with the oddball radio tracks ruining the flow but the good stuff is fucking killer
I also think a lot of people mistakenly listen to the deluxe version of In Waves when they check it out, not realizing all the bonus tracks dispersed throughout the tracklist that extend the album by like 20-30 minutes

Yea, In Waves rules. Fuck Watch The World Burn and Built To Fall is a tad too generic, but the rest fucking slays

I'm glad that me sticking with this band even through their weakest albums has actually payed off. Yeah is has a lot more of the commerciality of The Sin and the Snow but also packs a lot of agressive, technical riffing. Good review, even through I disagree with the rating.
