TGCD has one of the best modern rock/metal production jobs ever

Very nice review!
I enjoy this even more than I expected. For those unsure after the singles, don't let them detract you from giving the album a try. "Rein" is fantastic.

@Itwasthatwas
Yeah, the production of TGCD is my favorite thing about that album, but all the songs are just really meh for me.

They even managed to make the 10th anniversary edition of TGCD sound slightly better.

^ I was actually referring to the uneven mix of styles rather than uneven audio mix, but I think what you say about the uneven audio mix is true as well. Right now, the only songs I'm really loving on this album are Flicker and The Winter Of Our Passing.

I didn't know you write, too. When God speaks we must listen, I'll read it at the end of the day. I loved the new single btw

Really want to love the album, but it strays to indifference, I fear.

Shit I fought it was out on the streaming platforms
Got The Winter of Our Passing, as excellent as the other singles, can't wait.

The guitar leads on behind the blood are awesome. Do we get much more of that on the album?

i'd have honestly preferred an album like 'laquer' because it would have at least have been different
i'm half way through the record and i'm bored
|

Does anything on this album differ from the singles? Genuinely thought the singles were pretty snoozers, but since this has leaked and getting praise from multiple people, i might consider checking this out.

The two singles are stylistically at opposing points and the rest of the songs are somewhere between these two.

Lacquer sounds like Copeland going gothic

A rare and fabled Jom review :0
I'm already interested on the basis of it being Katatonia but this has me a little more stoked. They definitely nail spacier more atmospheric stuff remarkably well.
