I downloaded it off your blog...that was like 4-5 hours ago. Gave it one quick listen and found it very hard to get through, but I thought the same with Choirs first and love it now, so it may grow on me.

cuz its my first listen, and toby driver. I'm usually generous on first listen, and then adjust it with more listens.

I'm gonna stick with a 3.5 for now. Listened again and liked it more. Kandu Vs. Corky is amazing, the build up is so awesome, thats my favorite track by far. Lugubrious Library and Eptaceros were pretty good, but nothing too special imo. Brown Light is boring as hell, too much ambiance too little....music i guess.

how the hell is sine wave an instrument?

How is a mathematical function that makes a curvy graph (that starts at 1? or does it start at -1? engineers help me out I forget) an instrument? Though I do believe it works with frequency, why not just call it electronics or a synth, which is essentially what it would be?This Message Edited On 01.09.09

My guess is that it creates only one sound wave, so it creates a note with one very pure frequency, which might be why it's desired.

There's a good chance I'm wrong, though, as I don't know what the hell the instrument is or looks like.

EDIT: The sine wave starts at 0, too. This Message Edited On 01.09.09

Sine waves are pure-tones that you program [like the beeps in your phone when you dial]. The idea of using them is more focused on texture and shape rather than tone.

It's funny that this was bumped right now because I just made a blog update for this album.

Yeah I just started listening to this too. It's even harder to get into than all the other toby driver stuff. Sounded good though.

I absolutely love this album, anything Toby Driver touches turns to gold... That said, Mia can manipulate my mouth anytime.

Has anyone figured out the lyrics for Kandu vs. Corky? I can hear something about Prometheus and a torch, but that's about it.

brown light is the only one that seems excessive to me. it's just so damn long and I just get impatient wanting to listen to eptaceros.
