Except this is exactly what the evolution of the genre sounds like, and is certainly not as safe as fellow entries in the genre--Invent Animate and Polaris being examples of this year.

You also have Zapruder and Noise Trail Immersion both taking the genre to exciting places, Rolo Tomassi gradually fine-tuning their unique sound, Palm Reader encapsulating the power of the more mainstream sound, Aviations (not AS core, but with core influence) playing around with progressive instrumentals, and so on and so on.

If none of those are satisfying, then I don't know what else to say.

The only reason why this couldnt come across as safe that I can think of is that these guys dont bite off Architects and Misery Signals as rampantly as their peers do. Never listened to Zapruder or Noise Trail Immersion but I can give you that on Rolo Tomassi even if I dont care for them at all. Palm Reader ive never heard of as well as Aviations but I dont know what planet youd have to live on to think that playing with Progressive instrumentals is unique in core considering that Mathcore has been doing that for years, unless you mean like actual Prog Rock tidbits being put into core.

Theres way more interesting stuff happening in core than this offers especially with the resurgence of early 2000s Mathcore and the bands mixing Screamo with some ZAO/18V-esque riffage which is a much more unique fusion of differing core elements than this album is. Gif from God are incredible standout for modern core being able to take Emoviolence, Metalcore, Noisy electronics and place it all into a blender of ferocity. As well as core bands like Senza and Portrayal of Guilt who combine Love Lost But Not Forgotten style Screamo stuff with Black Metal. SeeYouSpaceCowboy take on early Sasscore stuff and managed to be much more technically dense and brutal than most of their influences and even when they switched to biting off This Day Forward and Misery Signals they managed to be more varied and emotionally poignant than any of the mainstream core stuff right now.

Theres tons of odd and new stuff going on right now in core but it aint here.

Shit I forgot to list off Seizures for actually good modern core. Reverie and Sanity Universal both need more love from peeps.

Definitely try Noise Trail Immersion. One of my favorites and they'll have new material out sometime this year along with Palm Reader and Svalbard

You into Svalbard at all my man? Another great U.K. metalcore set with emo leanings.

British metalcore invasion pt. 2 is gonna be upon us. Palm Reader is the superior artist, but definitely give Svalbard a peak.

Johnny Truant are the only really great Metalcore band to have come out of the British scene.

"Johnny Truant are the only really great Metalcore band to have come out of the British scene."

To be fair he said great. A more based take would be to say there has only ever been one great metalcore band.

I though Beecher just sounded similar to UK bands.

And saying one "really great" band doesnt mean that I think everything else is bad.

If you don't jam Breaking the Fourth Wall hard I dunno what to say. Not on board with that take at all.

And you definitely implied all other groups were bad, and that's really off base my friend.
