Halfway in and it’s a little samey so far but still really good. Glad I checked, thanks neek.

This really grew on me today. Love her voice and lyrics. The closer took my breath away, I don't remember it being so beautiful.

Glad you're digging this guys! I probably underrated the closer in this review tbh it just feels a bit redundant in context

Was supposed to see her live in April - Wish I could have heard this voice in person! Will have to support when when she comes back around

I love this. What the hell. I'd make the historic jump from a 3.5 to a 4.5 if I wasn't trying to be so conservative with my ratings now. It might still get there anyway. Country in 2020 has been great so far.

I think I went on the same journey! Started at a solid 3.5 and then I couldn't stop listening to it

Yeah this is loverly, "Wishful Thinking" and "Expectations" have definitely earned a place in my year-end list. I agree that this is a bit samey though, which holds back a lot of country-leaning albums.
"Georgia" is a devastating highlight from the back-half though

The fact that this isn't more popular is criminal
Just finished my 3rd legitimately full listen and it's probably on par with Honey Harper for my AOTY. It's obviously less sonically adventurous, but it also hits 10x harder emotionally.

Hey, there's that jump! I feel that entirely. It's in the running for my AOTYSF and I'm not even sure why. Kacey Musgraves-esque in that there's nothing entirely special, but it's done so incredibly well and hits every point that I possibly need in my music

Why does nobody talk about this? The melodies, the lyrics - nearly everything here is perfect.
"Georgia" gives me chills - one of my SOTY contenders at this point.

her voice seems pretty but serviceable at first but then she belts that shit out in "my mind's a ship that's going down." beautiful stuff.

Chan have you heard this before or just checking now?
Seems right in your country wheelhouse. Sort of on the poppier side of things vocally but an excellent album nonetheless.

Yeah I'm always a fan of artists that subvert the stereotypes of their respective genres

Agreed. This is actually in my AOTY running. Probably not the best of the year but will definitely end up in my top 10.
