all of the tracks can be perfect Film Noir soundtracks. beyond being ambient, they are magically cinematic!

Oh Dewinged, at least I can rely on your taste! After Two People I should have known that you would write a review for this. Really fitting review and refreshing writing style!
Just bought this vinyl today and it's my first time listening to them (which is shame I guess, since I live in Germany), so...can you rec me their other records?

Thanks Eclipse, believe or not, this was the first album I heard by them. Black Earth is their most popular so I would check that one out. They seem to be pretty consistent so I guess you can expect the same from the albums in between that one and this new one.
Also check The Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation and The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble for stuff similar to this!

I checked out both of Dewinged's recs so far and Darkjazz Ensemble is even better than this. Holy shit, thank you! Doomjazz Corporation was too ambient for me. Next stop will be Dale Cooper then. Thank y'all!

yeah, turns out that this Bong-Ra guy is member of both of them. Saw him as support for Dillinger Escape Plan and it was way too loud (most of the people covered their ears) and way too weird like a cat randomly pressing buttons on a keyboard which releases bass drums and other shit. Really sucked tbh. But in these groups, this guy seems to be amazing

Dale Cooper is better than the corporation, but the ensemble is the best!

Enjoyed it well enough, definitely moody, though I wasn't prepared for how unwavering the lounge-act vibes would be. Was really into it up front but started to peter out towards the end, and I can't shake the feeling that it's a sub-Badalamenti derivative to some degree. At times the emulation was so good that it hardly mattered, though.
Will need to give it another spin in the future but I wouldn't have minded something a little shorter give how incremental the variations are, track to track. All in all, though: Good.
Nice review in any case, Dewi. Glad to have finally been prodded to check it out (been on my list since it was released).

"the emulation was so good that it hardly mattered" This.
They definitely love Badalamenti but honestly is so well written and produced that I don't really care.
"have been adding some bohrencore to the sput db" rec away park.
