Friendly reminder to check A Social Grace, even if you didn't dig this one. That one lives up to the bands name.

Yea I honestly am pretty disappointed by this but I will swear by their first two. I also think Mosquito and Bleeding are pretty good

@willie have you ever tried Vanden Plas? They're more of the DT-school of prog, but their writing is a lot more straightforward and melody-focused than DT. Song lengths are mostly 'normal' too (so 5~7 minutes on average, with a couple going more for the 10-minute mark). These days I prefer them to DT even. They have a super solid discography. Also wanna rec Karma Rassa, since I know you like Anathema. Very beautiful atmospheric prog metal with Russian lyrics. Their latest album is amazing.

All The Bad Men like sounds like Alice in Chains if they were a prog band. Digging it a lot, definitely going to check this out

i wish it got a bit more focused on the techier side. imo mosquito did that whole side rather well and was more nuanced with the whole rhythm section side than this.

Hopefully they release another album. This album is the band getting their feet wet again, learning to work together again, etc. I think a lot of what people missed on this album could end up on a second album where the band start pushing their boundaries again.

Ok, 5 straight listens made me rate it at last. This is good. Really good, not "they are back, hail prog masters, serv'em the 5" kinda good.

It is really good. Let them do some shows and get used to each other again, and then go back to writing. I guarantee an even better album.

Ever heard them before? If you haven't that'll make your reaction interesting.

I gave it a couple of listens before but it didn't hook me in. Will relisten when I'm in the proper mood
