Absolutely stellar album, which is on repeat here, that they would not go back to their first masterpiece was obvious, Devon hasn't sung this way for ages.

Has the vocalist always sounded like this? I love how incredibly mellow they are. Kinda reminds me of that Ghost band, but nowhere near as obnoxious

He was a lot less restrained in the early stuff and had more range but his tone is more or less the same. He just sang in a higher register and showed some more vocal acrobatics. Here it’s more moody and restrained

Nah Jester, I've known them by name only, since I was really into Queensryche, Watchtower, Leatherwolf and stuff like that back in the day, even into smth like Threshold more recently but haven't heard this band's old stuff.
I'm digging While the Spiders Spin, but the songs before didn't blow my mind...
