you may be bewildered or disappointed if you're expecting traditional atmosblack. there's some Nightwish nonsense going on here too.

No not at all. This style is right on for me. Album is really really good on first spin but can't possibly absorb it all yet. Reminds me of a few albums I rate highly such as Can Bardd's The Last Rain, Celtefog's Sounds of the Olden Days, Ruadh's Sovereign, Sojourner's Empires of Ash, Eldamar's The Force of the Ancient Land.
This is so solid dude m///

thanks! man those are some of my absolute favorites -- and great people, too. I don't know Celtefog but I will soon.

Don't like much black metal, but this is cool and epic and awesome.

I see you came here from Skyforest. a man of taste.

Should I jam this if I find the first album dece but pretty boring overall??
|
| |
I mean the bm trad crowd roasted us for all the florid shit here so maybe that means it'll be more interesting

What matters is what you like, and I don't care about genre fidelity. If it works, it works. This has BM, but other elements too, and it's epic and it works. For me, someone who has a low tolerance for gruff vocals, this has that crucial musicality, a hard-won epic rock-tree stark glory, so that a few years later I keep listening to this.
